ONSHORE TRAINING COURSES - CIVIL AVIATION AUTHORITY OFFSHORE VHF RADIO OPERATOR

 

Brief Description

This qualification is mandatory for individuals using an aeronautical frequency for the purpose of communication with aircraft.

 

Course Contents

 

 

Correct speech techniques

 

Standard speech abbreviations

 

Aircraft call signs

 

Readability of transmissions

 

Reporting of helideck movement

 

Correct terminology

 

Aircraft distress and urgency response procedures

   
 

Candidates will be provided with a copy of Cap 452 “Aeronautical Radio Station Operators Guide” on enrolment.

Location and Duration

The duration of this course is two-days. The course is a combination of both theory and voice content. Delegates must pass a voice and theory examination (which will be validated by the Civil Aviation Authority). This course can be delivered at Onsite Training Services centre in Dyce, Aberdeen or at client’s premises.
