Brief Description

The purpose of this training and assessments is to advise delegates on the correct and safe use of offshore cranes, including full demonstration and instruction of operating skills required. Delegates will be individually assessed to identify learning outcomes.

 

Course Contents

 

 

Legislation and guidelines including LOLER, PUWER and BS7121

 

Identification of crane types and parts

 

Marine terminology and radio procedures

 

Principles of crane stability

 

Daily and weekly safety and maintenance procedures

 

Correct and safe operating procedures

 

Radius, weight/load indicators

 

Limiting devices

Location and Duration

The duration of this training and assessment is normally conducted over five days depending on experience. The course is a combination of both theory and practical content. This course is delivered at Onsite Training Services centre in Dyce, Aberdeen.
